Xbox One to get 60 frames per second live sports channels

24/7 channels will deliver sports video content with integrated real-time stats and highlights.

Microsoft’s Xbox One will soon deliver live sports content streamed at 60 frames per second through 24-hour dedicated channels.

Through a partnership with NeuLion, the service will offer live sports feeds, on-demand content and real-time stats and analysis.

“NeuLion has enabled us to merge high-definition video with real-time data to create an interactive experience that is only available on Xbox One,” said Wil Mozell, GM of the Sports Entertainment Group at Microsoft.

No solid launch for the service has been mentioned.

Will barely even notice. At least they are improving things I guess.

I don't think you will be able to tell a difference.

Bloomy It's hard to tell the difference between say.. 100 FPS to 50 FPS. There's no lag in either.

Once you get used to 100FPS you will likely be able to tell the difference. At the moment seeming that most things are around 30-60fps it is pretty hard to tell

Your eyes can only tell about 30FPS anything past that is just so if the frames drop you won't notice it.

The whole 'your eyes can only see 30 fps' thing is a lie. Your eyes don't work at all like a camera... it isn't even remotely true.

Wrong/Right.

Your eyes can only see at around 18fps. But your brain helps you figure out that there are more FPS which makes it concentrate to "see more."

If something is going at 18fps it is fluid. When there is a blur your eyes make your brain think it is going faster so it appears to be going more FPS. When moving your hand back in forth infront of your face it is blurry, but does it seem not fluid? Of course it seems fluid, it isn't like your hand is jumping across from left to right and you don't see the movements in between.

Yeah, I guess that's true. I'm used to low FPS anyway..

You may not be able to see the difference but you can definitely feel the difference

hopefully they start applying this to all apps and games on the one
