PSN will be offline for maintenance on Monday for six hours

SCEE has announced it will be bringing PlayStation Network down for maintenance on Monday, January 27 from 5.30pm to 11.30pm GMT. The firm expects the downtime to last approximately six hours. If you’ve signed in to PSN anytime before January 20, you will still be able to play games online and access apps. The PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home and Account Management will not be available during this time. The service will be brought down in North America as well from 12:30 PM to 6:30 PM EST.

It think that you don't see PSN going down as much as Live does but PSN does have these scheduled maintenance times, so I don't really know which one is better. It should be even that big of deal because they try to pick the times when the fewest gamers are going to be on they don't do it like on a Saturday Night.

After my 3 years with Xbox LIVE, I don't remember there ever being a maintenance break... They just release updates. I could possibly be wrong, but if they did do maintenance than it definitely wasn't very often.


I don't remember there ever being a maintenance break, its all done in system updates I think.

Not just the store. You won't be able to make accounts, so a new PS4 user won't be able to play online. Or anyone that wanted to buy games digitally.


Well it's only for 6 hours.. it shouldn't really cause too many problems when put into perspective

I don't see why PSN is always down for maintenance every two weeks. When Xbox doesn't announce it.
