Minecraft sales exceed 1 million in first month on PS3

After a month of generating new lands for PS3 users to explore, Minecraft has sold one million copies on the PlayStation Network. Mojang's David Kaplan shared the news on Mojang's blog, proving that there are actually still people on this Earth that have yet to buy the build-what-you-want adventure game.

Kaplan noted that the Mojang team is grateful for the support and hopeful that fans are receptive of future updates. As a sales recap, 11 million units of the PC version were sold by last June, and the Xbox 360 version has creeped out another 10 million players with the unsettling hiss of Creepers. Wii U sales are just a bit lower in comparison, as Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson noted in December that there are "no current plans" to reach the console.

I enjoyed it for a while but after a while I just got too bored

minecraft is a good game but it can only keep you occupied for so long on the console version at the min because once you have worked to getting the things you need to kill the ender dragon and when you actually kill the ender dragon it becomes boring and all you can do is build so they need to update it soon to keep people playing......

Krookodile I like minecraft on the console, of course it's not as good on PC but it's still good regardless, this is great news for Mojang


I've always enjoyed console gaming more than PC gaming (up until recently), but a lot of people would agree that it should just be a PC game haha.


I personally think that it makes an excellent PC game yet should also be on consoles for others as well.

PC isn't that great, cheaper to buy an console instead of a overpriced computer.

I agree. It is in fact a master piece on the PC, but for those who are not PC gamers they can still enjoy the game on the console.

ya you and you have to keep upgrading that pc every year basically. it gives unfair advantages to ppl who spend more money. way to many hacks on pc servers. pc gamers are just annoying as fk. good for you that you got better graphics for any extra 500 dollars. hell. ill go buy a damn n64 and have plenty of fun on that before spending all this money on a pc.
