Call of Duty now on three year development cycle

3.9
Activision has released that it will be moving the CoD series to a three year development cycle instead of two.

While this still means a new CoD entry each year it *should* allow much more time for the respective devs to fully develop their CoD. One would imagine their hope in this strategy change is to foster more innovation while allowing further care of previously released games in the form of better crafted DLC.

"Sledgehammer is a triple-A studio built from the ground-up around prudent talent with a 90-plus-rated pedigree both in studio leadership and throughout the organization.

They demonstrated their skill on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and on their past high-rated games. They're the perfect choice to support our new approach and bring fresh ideas and creativity to this great franchise, and to raise the bar for next-gen games overall.

Love how it says "They demonstrated their skill on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3" MW3 sucked in my opinion so i might not be buying their COD

If they do this, my expectations will be high!

It'll be interesting to see what Sledgehammer's CoD will be like; hopefully something that hasn't been done before, or maybe going back to CoD's WWII roots.

One thing that annoys me about this is that we'll have to wait until 2015 for any new zombies maps.

-Luke1977 This is actually risky, for all we know sledgehammer could completely screw up the call of duty community, personally i like the risk that's been taken, lets hope for a good call of duty now!!

its been screwed up since after mw2

So now 3 devs instead of 2...fantastic. Will be the same shit it has been for the last 3+ years. Best to worst game series. Cheers Activision and your money hungry leaders.
