Both Apple and Google stopping new apps with 'Flappy' in title

Both Apple and Google are now rejecting new apps with the word "Flappy" in their title. According to Indie developler Ken Carpenter and his recent tweet his upcoming game, Flappy Dragon, had failed the approval process for the iOS app store.

According to Carpenter, Apple told him his app was in violation of the below section of App Store Review Guidelines:

22.2: Apps that contain false, fraudulent or misleading representations will be rejected

We found that your app, and/or its metadata, contains content that could be misleading to users, which is not in compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.

We found your app name attempts to leverage a popular app.App Store Review Guidelines



How do you feel about Apple and Google refusing to publish games attempting to capitalize on the recently pulled Flappy Bird?

Good, this game is the most annoying game I have ever played. I'm a sore loser lol I suck at the game so I hate it. The game was fun the first couple times that I played it, but after about the 5th time, I wanted to throw my phone at the wall.

They will just rename it something else like "flying"

or "tap dat bird"

I wish they would do this with Windows as well., I have a Windows Phone and all that's on the marketplace anymore is just Flappy Bird related games.

I am happy they are doing this, ever since flappy bird has been taken off of the app store, people have been going crazy with these new games. The games they make are pretty much the same as flappy bird, except they have a different animal or background or whatever. :/

I think it's pretty funny that people are stupid enough to waste money listing it and it just gets rejected/taken down.

If the game is intentionally in violation of anything to do with flappybird, it should be fine.

I agree with Carpenter, if the app isn't listed anymore, then how is his app taking advantage of it? I hate all the drama because of word play. It should be all about the game play, not the title of the game that matters. This is just big brother trying to keep us small guys down.

Gor I think it's not ok to be rejecting it since "Flappy Bird" doesn't exist.



But there are too many spoofs of this game, copying the whole idea, just using a different animal/object
