"Black Screen" issue arises from latest Xbox One System Update

In their most recent system update for the Xbox One Microsoft has inadvertently added a pretty nasty bug which disables the video for you console with a single button press.

According to games via reddit and other various outlets, we have multiple reports of screens just going black after pressing the Xbox button to access the home screen. This effectively disables all video from the system, the only way to fix this is to perform a hard reset or manually remove the power cable from the unit.

Microsoft is aware of this issues as seen via their twitter support account.

I heard it was a major problem, I think it is fixed now though or at least I hope.

Microsoft should of tested for all of these problems. They really can't afford to do this to their customers because people can just return their xbox's back and get their money back for the black screens.

Same here just the party chat problem which makes me play my xbox 360 where everything works fine.
