Platoons for Battlefield 4 rolling out on Feb 27th

DICE has officially confirmed that the "first iteration" of the upcoming Platoon feature set for Battlefield 4 will come to life on February 27th.

We previously reported informal dev hinting at the system here.

BF4 is preparing to welcome back a key multiplayer feature it has lacked thus far, the clan style Platoon system we came to adore in previous battlefield revisions. They went on to detail the Platoon system in a recent Battlelog forum post stating that finer details for the system would be released "very soon."

- The ability to create and join a Platoon for up to 100 members.
- Basic Platoon management such as inviting, applying, and promoting/demoting members.
- A private and public Platoon feed, where you can communicate and coordinate.
- A Platoon emblem and tag that all members can easily apply.
- The ability to earn stats for your Platoon and rank it up, and see all the matches you played together.DICE



It is worrying that there is no specific notice of being able to pre prepare your group of best mates in a pre-game lobby.

Good, I always ranted about this feature not being in BF4. Thank god its coming back.

There are other priorities they should be fixing first. So far as joining a game with mates, I'm pretty sure that on the X1 if your in a party with them and you join a game it automatically reserves space for your friends. Could be wrong.

I will definitely have to give this a try once it is released. Seems like a pretty cool feature now since they added a ranking system for it.
