GameStop hikes price on PS4 Camera amid supposed 'high demand'

GameStop, US game retailer, has recently added a $10 markup to its remaining supply of PlayStation 4 Camera as supposed demand outgrows supply. The product normally retails for $59.99 and has been honored by most outlets since the console's launch but it seems GameStop had different ideas when they listed the product for $69.99. Sony has avoided commenting with exact sales figures or even opening up to offer an explanation for the obvious supply shortage of PS4 Cameras.

While we do not comment on the sales figures, shipment or monthly production quantity, PlayStation Camera remains in high demand.Sony

this is not a very good way to get customers putting the fact out there that they have raised the price to 10 dollars more then other stores, perhaps online shopping is the way to go

I always buy my games off Amazon when they go on sale. I really hate Gamestop.

I am surprised that the demand is that high for the PS4 Camera. I really didn't find a use for it when I messed around with the PS4 but if it's anything similar to the Kinect, I could see why people want it.

It's like Kinect, has auto sign in features and voice commands. The Kinect is a better version though, it has more commands. The one advantage to the Playstation Camera is you can use voice commands from a headset.

If you're talking about the 8% bump, from Kinect that would bring it to a 42% difference.
If you belive the whole "cloud will make the Xbox one 4X stronger", then you don't understand latency.
Once again no facts are given to defend your point.


The cloud isn't going to make that great of a difference, so I agree with you. But I think the Xbox One will be more popular to consumers because there's a larger range of games because every Xbox One can be turned into a Developer kit. The Xbox One really isn't that power lacking either. The difference may be more noticeable as revs learn how to use the consoles or less noticeable later.
