PS4 supply to be constricted until summer, Sony says

PlayStation 4 consoles will be available in limited supply at retailers into the summer.

Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House told the Wall Street Journal that demand for the system has been high across the board, and in particular in the U.S. and Europe, since the console first launched in November.

"We're struggling to keep up with demand," House said. "Conservatively, as we get into the early summer months, we'll be closer to a full supply situation."

PlayStation 4 had sold 6 million units worldwide as of early March. The NPD Group reported that sales of Sony's latest home console doubled those of Xbox One in January.

Sony plans to release a new virtual reality headset exclusively for PS4, currently titled Project Morpheus. You can read our thoughts on Morpheus in our hands-on preview.

Upcoming updates to the console will enable dimming the lightbar, improve its sharing and streaming options, and Infamous studio Sucker Punch says support for pre-loading downloadable games will be added in April.

daRealRush It's hard to find a PS4 around where I live. I understand that the demand is too high for the supply. So I hope they can get a lot more consoles out going into the summer.

Just order it on Amazon cause the when it came out it was out of stock fast.

i think it all depends in what area you are im in the city so ps4 is extremely rare around here and hard to get

Gossip Still annoyed they raised the price in Canada. I strongly dislike Sony now.

Business is business, but to be honest sales will never be as great as they have they been these past few months. The honeymoon season is wearing off.
