4.5
Alex Kibkalo plead guilty to theft of trade secrets on Monday for leaking Windows 8 code prior to it's official launch. Alex, a former Microsoft employee, was sentenced to three months in federal prison and a fine of $22,500 to be paid to Microsoft. He worked as a software architect for seven years at Microsoft prior to departing the company in 2012, he left to pursue a job at 5nine Software afterwards. This story brought to light a issue where Microsoft would troll user content within the Live email service for copyright infringement, they have recently came out and abolished the practice in the future.

I agree 22grand is the correct punishment, leaking Windows 8 trade secret codes could lose a lot of money for Microsoft.

Unsinned I bet this guy regrets this big time, 3 months and $22,500 unlucky.

No he is lucky for what he received that fine could have been much larger not to mention if Microsoft wanted they could lock him up for life they have the money to make him "disappear" not to mention they could have sued him for all he is worth that is why you do not **** with large companies

I hope it was worth the fine, a sentence and a record. Good luck finding a job.
