Minecraft: Xbox One Confirmed to Allow Save Transfers from Xbox 360

With Minecraft available on Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Mac, and shortly arriving on PS Vita and PS4, it’s hard not to find a system that the mega-popular title will be coming to – luckily, fans holding out for the Xbox One Edition will have a nice bonus in store.
Microsoft’s Phil Spencer confirmed via Twitter that “after months of teaming up with Mojang,” the Xbox One Edition of Minecraft will allow save file transfers between the upcoming new version and the Xbox 360 Edition of the title. Minecraft: Xbox One Edition was originally announced at last year’s E3 2013 and is expected to release in 2014, with Spencer promising that more news about the upcoming version of the game will be coming soon.

Interesting, so their excuse for DLC downloaded on the 360 for the same exact game won't be available on the Xbox One system is because it's "not compatible" (even though it's strictly purchasing), yet the saves are transferable. Microsoft is ridiculously greedy. I find myself playing my 360 way more than my Xbox One, so this minecraft thing won't really matter to me as much.

Why not bring all the worlds you spent all that time on over?

This was something I was saying would more and likely be put in when they announced the Xbox One and Minecraft coming to the Xbox One. I know there are a lot of people who do pixel art or make amazing worlds and them not being able to transfer over their worlds would have been a letdown, anyways, glad they're allowing worlds to be transferred over.

From what they said.. There is going to be a HUGE improvements to the game, i hope we will be updated to the PC version.


If they do, i will probably play it a lot more often than i normally do :)


Have you seen the price for next gen though $50 to buy it, its unbelievable.


It won't be that price, that's just a placeholder price. A placeholder price is shown so it enables you to pre-order the game from that retailer. The price of the game will probably be about the same maybe a little bit more, so there's nothing to worry about.


Ohhh. I was on the game website (UK) and it was 45 GBP.


Yes they show that price so that they can get pre-orders for it. I believe that it can be very misleading.
