Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare teaser video spotlights the rise of PMCs

Activision has released a live-action video feature spotlighting the increasing prominence of modern-day PMCs (private military corporations), which will evidently play a major role in this year's new Call of Duty game.

The video comes shortly after the publisher revealed plans to announce the latest entry in its flagship shooter series on May 4 at 10am UK time (2am Pacific) via a countdown timer posted on the official Call of Duty website.

The new teaser video, entitled 'Superpower For Hire' and embedded below, looks into the real-life global rise of PMCs and their increasing employment in combat. Simultaneously, it confirms the prominent role PMCs will play in Call of Duty 2014, following previous hints on the official site in the form of hidden links pointing to articles involving PMCs.

The video starts with the quote, "In the next Call of Duty, the world's most powerful military is not a country. It's a corporation." It adds, "Could this actually happen?"

An accompanying video description also reads: "In the last 20 years, global combat has seen a steady shift towards the use of private military corporations, or PMCs. What happens when the highest bidder becomes the world's next superpower?"

Well based on years past, I believe it is safer to say this year's Call of Duty will be just like the previous years. Hey it might be great and be the first Call of Duty I buy since MW3. But right now if i had to put money on it, I would put my money on it being like the past years. Also this is the most pro cod website I've ever seen that claims to be an all around gaming site. How do all of you still look forward to this when there is so many better games out there?

Hopefully sledgehammer will make this CoD better than the last one. Ghost was horrible in my opinion.

Very interesting video not sure if it is factually accurate but at least I've heard of G4S they did the security for the 2012 Olympics. This seems like an decent idea for COD but it obviously rests on the gameplay and re-playability than it does on a short movie clip. I'm intrigued though.

If that video is even half true, I would be terrified as to where this world could head. One of the reasons why if is unsafe to give soldiers so much money. They will then want to go to war. Eventually they will make their own conflicts just to benefit themselves. None of that matters though considering this is about Call of Duty. If done right, this game could be pretty awesome. Not holding my breath though.

Dorkus Man I can just tell this COD is going to be good! I'm already hyped up and I can't wait to see the official trailer!


If i was you , i would keep your hype! I have no doubt that this will be the exact same as all of the other games that they make.
