The information was presented in an internal video which leaked earlier today, detailing many of the game's key features.
Among the revelations were four new multiplayer modes, which are as follows:
Heist - One team controls a gang of criminals trying to break into a bank and blow up a vault to steal its riches, while the other team controls police officers attempting to prevent them.
Rescue - A team of SWAT officers has to infiltrate a building and rescue the hostages being held captive in a bank by a group of criminals whose robbery went wrong.
Hotwire - This mode specialises in car chases, as the police follow car thieves across "large, open environments".
Bloodmoney - A team of cops and a team of criminals battle to locate a huge pile of money and return it to their safehouse.
The video also details the single-player mode, which is being developed by Dead Space studio Visceral.
The campaign story follows Nick Mendoza, a young Miami detective who is "caught in his own personal struggle between right and wrong". Nick is a former cop who embarks on a cross-country quest to get revenge on his ex-police partners who backstabbed him.
Each level in the campaign mode will be structured like a TV episode, complete with cliffhangers. The cast includes stars of shows such as Justified, The Americans and House Of Cards.
Environments are also "wide and more open than before", with redesigned AI allowing for stages to be played in multiple ways.
Finally, environmental destruction has been enhanced, allowing players to visit both glitzy and gritty urban locations and blow them into pieces, including the likes of subterranean mariuana grow labs, bank vaults and LA car dealerships.
The first details on Battlefield Hardline were leaked on Tuesday night, forcing EA to come out and officially confirm the game shortly afterwards.
