‘Watch Dogs’ Will Punish Players Unless They Are Always Online

Online integration seems to be a big part of the Watch Dogs experience however, it seems you will be punished if you decide to turn off online invasions in the game.

As this picture shows, if you decide to disable online invasions you will be faced with a harsh punishment from Ubisoft stating:

“By disabling Online Invasions you will not be available for other players to invade, but you will also not be able to participate in Online Hacking and Tailing. Your Notoriety will be reset to zero and any Notoriety Skills you have unlocked will be lost.

Do you want to disable Online Invasions?

It seems that the always online feature is becoming more and more prevalent in modern games such as Need For Speed: Rivals and now Watch Dogs.

We were originally going to see the always online feature in the Xbox One but during the reveal the backlash from the Xbox community had that decision overturned pretty quickly.

What do you think of this online “feature” from Ubisoft? Does it bother you? Will if effect your choice to play Watch Dogs online or not?

No it doesn't bother me at all, it actually livens things up especially when ur on ur way to some where and u randomly get invaded its kinda keeps u alert. And its good as the ranking system will punish players players that turn them off, as why should people only be allowed to invade you when u are ready for it. If this was real life a hacker is going to to it when u least expect it not when you are ready waiting for them. Good job ubisoft it adds that level of realism and the higher ranked players are going to have a good rank due to there skill, not because they only turn on invasions when they are ready, so to get a good rank you have to be alert at all times. My biggest complaints are the graphics, no jump and the arcadish driving style.

It doesn't happen very often, I have played the game for hours and hours, and have only been hacked in 4 times. so not a big deal having it on.

Yeah but some people just want to enjoy the game without invasions.

JD1285 My xbox one is always online I can't play a single game without be connected to the Internet so always online been there


You can play Xbox One games offline... there's no DRM.
