343 Says Halo: Master Chief Collection “Definitely” Not Coming To Xbox 360

One of the big announcements to be revealed during Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conference was Halo: The Master Chief Collection, a new package containing HD versions of the four mainline Halo games all coming to Xbox One in an epic, Master Chief-sized package.

Speaking in an interview, 343 Industries Head Bonnie Ross mentioned specifically on The Master Chief Collection‘s likelihood of appearing on other platforms/consoles that fans should only expect to see the new collection appear on Xbox One for the time being, such as Xbox 360 and PC. For Xbox 360, it became a matter of technical limitations, as Ross mentioned that “We do not have any plans to bring the game to Xbox 360 as the game size, enhanced features and technical specifications simply can’t support it.”

Likewise, Ross also noted that Halo and Halo 2 previously appeared on PC shortly after their initial release on Xbox, but didn’t say whether we can expect to see The Master Chief Collection on PC down the line, or other future Halo titles – for now, fans can expect to see Master Chief only being on Xbox One for the time being, it seems.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection releases for Xbox One on November 11th, 2014.

It's also a bit of a pain for me. I personally would of bought it if it was for 360

Not everyone has a XO but the 360 should be dropped as quick as it can without causing much damage. Almost 9 years supporting the last generation.

Yea it does suck, terribly. I was really hoping to see if they've improved anything on the 360. I bet they could have done it too.


Iam glad that the 360 dont get the Collection. Otherwise the Graphics on the Other platform will suffer as well. Remember Watch_Dogs for the old system. The overall Graphics were cut down to a Minimum that the 360 and PS3 can take it AND THEN from this point get it rendered up for the Xbox One and PS4. That is not Fair at all. Iam sure there are many other examples like this. So dont take it offensive, but dont cry about a 9 Year old Console that it do not get a Triple A Blockbuster Title like a Remastered Halo Collection. It would be senseless. The Power of the 360 is almost Dead. So buy a Xbox One and you will be satisfied the next 6-9 Years.


Completely true. Many of Battlefield 4's problems are due to old console release and of course the fact EA pumped it out early to compete with CoD but in the end you shouldn't have to downgrade your game so people can play it on the old-gen. Why would you want a downgraded game anyway? It would only disappoint you.
