343 Says Halo: Master Chief Collection “Definitely” Not Coming To Xbox 360

One of the big announcements to be revealed during Microsoft’s E3 2014 press conference was Halo: The Master Chief Collection, a new package containing HD versions of the four mainline Halo games all coming to Xbox One in an epic, Master Chief-sized package.

Speaking in an interview, 343 Industries Head Bonnie Ross mentioned specifically on The Master Chief Collection‘s likelihood of appearing on other platforms/consoles that fans should only expect to see the new collection appear on Xbox One for the time being, such as Xbox 360 and PC. For Xbox 360, it became a matter of technical limitations, as Ross mentioned that “We do not have any plans to bring the game to Xbox 360 as the game size, enhanced features and technical specifications simply can’t support it.”

Likewise, Ross also noted that Halo and Halo 2 previously appeared on PC shortly after their initial release on Xbox, but didn’t say whether we can expect to see The Master Chief Collection on PC down the line, or other future Halo titles – for now, fans can expect to see Master Chief only being on Xbox One for the time being, it seems.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection releases for Xbox One on November 11th, 2014.

Potion Don't really see a point in it coming to 360 anyway Halo 1, 3, 4 are already on the 360. Not to mention that people should really be upgrading to the Xbox ONe if they want the newest games.


They could, if they wanted to, make it better though. Like, improve the graphics, gameplay, cinematics, etc. I think it would be pretty cool.

I think you're missing the point of this collection. It's all on one disc for xbone. There is no way they could do the same for xbox 360. Especially since Halo 4 already takes 2 discs to play.

I don't see what the big deal is to you people. There's no point of remaking the halos on the last gen. There already on last gen!!!! Why remake it? It will be the same damn game. The only game that would be practical to be remade for 360 is halo w since that is the only one on 360. It really wasn't that hard to think of this.

I really don't care that its not coming. I already have both of the current gen ones. Last gen is outdated even though I play it from time to time.
