Destiny Had Over 4 Million Players During its Beta

The Destiny beta was a beast, with Activision announcing today that 4,638,937 players participated in the early access stress test of the game launching September 9.

"Hosting a beta at this scale is an incredible feat, so we're thrilled to see the phenomenal response. But the beta is just a taste of what's to come," said Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg. "This is the biggest beta of this console generation by a wide margin and the largest console beta ever for a new video game IP to date."

I was out of town at a camp when the beta was going on so i really missed out on it. I did watch some videos on it and it seems like a really good game and from what my friends said it seems that they did a good job in not showing to much or releasing too much of the game in the beta.

I said the same exact thing when trying to explain destiny to someone who hadn't heard of it earlier today. I also included that they had Activision invest $500 million in the game so the production values were incredibly high leading to some aesthetically pleasing features like the loading screens when flying in ships. So amped for this game, but NHL 15 comes out the same day and im a die hard hockey fan :(..
