Pre-order and pre-download Destiny on Xbox One from today

After am early slip yesterday, Microsoft has announced you can pre-order and pre-download Destiny on Xbox One.


Those who pre-order through the Xbox Store will be able to pre-download the game, but you won’t be able to play it until 12.01am PDT/3.01am on September 9.

Once you pre-purchase the Destiny Pre-Order Edition or the Destiny Digital Guardian Edition, you can download the game by selecting the “Manage” button on the product details page on your console.

Those who choose the Destiny Digital Guardian Edition will receive:

A digital download copy of Destiny
Access to the Vanguard Armory and Emblem pre-order bonus
Exclusive Ghost Casing, Player Ship, and Player Emblem
A reservation for two upcoming Destiny Expansions featuring “all new storylines, new cooperative and competitive activities, and new weapons, armor, and gear to earn.”
Destiny is out on PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One September 9.

slapshot101 I am all for the pre download but I feel somehow people are going to finds ways to exploit this. I know that on release date you get the final data you need to make the game playable but I think there are some people that can bypass this and still get it to work. It seems really early to allow people to pre download the game but hopefully this will alleviate the stress on the servers when the game comes out.


even if they did they wouldn't be able to play as the servers would not be online yet and i also heard bungie says the game might even be playable early wherever its September ninth in the world

Well when such items include a season pass(like the expansion pass Destiny's Limited/Ghost Edition has), it's easier just to buy it all at once at a somewhat discounted price, even if it is only by $5/$10.

The thing I don't understand is the Ghost Edition. All it is is the Limited Edition, but with a plastic toy that lights up and makes noises. Sounds like a waste of an extra $50 that could go towards something else if you ask me.
