League of Legends introduces Ranked Restrictions for toxic players

League of Legends is a really popular game, but it also has a pretty noxious community reputation. That's something that's on the forefront of the mind of the Riot Games team, and it's being addressed with the latest patch. Players voted down for negative behavior are already operating under a chat restriction, requiring them to play a certain number of games before they can speak in the game again. Now those players will see another restriction, though: the inability to access ranked play.

Rank restricted players will have a certain number of games that they must play before they can return to queueing for ranked matches just like with chat restrictions. Players who are deeply into negative territory and rank restricted at the end of a given competitive season will also be ineligible for receiving special rewards for ranked play, meaning that poor sportsmanship doesn't pay at any level of the game. While there are potential abuses for the system, it's an obvious effort to make the play experience on all levels a more positive one for players.

Ghostizaboss I played this for like 1 week never played it again thought it could have been better



Just takes practice. When you get good it is a fun game.
I'm sure it's a good game it's just so boring fast maybe I'll give it another try first day I played it was cool then I just stop playing it but like I said I'll try it again hopefully things will be different this time around


The game is fun if you get going in it. It's no fun if you're not getting triple kills on champions and going in, otherwise you spend your time getting yelled at by your team and called every name possible

Personally this is a good thing to me, if someone gets restricted they shouldn't be allowed to play in important ranked matches.

Game is strict with what you can say. They won't even let me know what I did to get chat suspended. I don't flame like most others do, but I can get pretty PO'd. No warning whatsoever either.

Whilst it does sound stupid, you don't really enjoy the game to the same extent until you reach level 30 and aquire a good set of runes and champions.

Getting to level 30 is a big grind, getting a nice balanced set of champions and accompanying runes is an even bigger one. (I've got about 34 day playtime apparently and I am not even 1/2 through my sets of runes.)

Get a few friends to play it with, I always find playing in a 5-man team is much more enjoyable.

Thank god they're doing this, every time i get into a ranked match i just see toxic players for days. Hopefully this new system can improve language behavior among players.
