Halo: The Master Chief Collection multiplayer playlists limited

4.7
343 Industries has temporarily reduced the number of online multiplayer playlists as part of its continued efforts to fix the matchmaking issues in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

The studio advised players on the official Halo Waypoint blog that it was taking the temporary measure to help players find games faster.

The following playlists have been removed for the time being:

Team Hardcore
Rumble Pit
Halo 4
SWAT (rotational)

This leaves the following six playlists remaining:

Team Halo 2: Anniversary
Halo Championship Series
Team Slayer
Big Team Battle
Halo 2 Classic
Halo 3

"This concentrated playlist layout will allow players to get into matches faster, and improve overall match times," 343 states in its blog.

The studio acknowledges, however, that this is by no means a solution, and it continues to work on completely fixing matchmaking issues. "While we anticipate that concentrating our players into fewer playlists will have an effect on match times, it will not solve all Matchmaking issues, it explains.

"We are currently investigating CUs and server side tweaks over the next week to address matchmaking issues."

It also offers the following tip for players still experiencing long wait times: "Back-end data is showing that the majority of successful Matchmaking matches are found within 2-4 minutes of searching.

"When searching, if you do not find a match within 5 minutes, please return to lobby and restart the search, as this will reset the search parameters and increase the likelihood of finding a match within the aforementioned range."

I'd never get this game now, it just seems to be problematic

Been watching a lot of videos and cant wait to actually get my hands on the game.

If the servers can't take the hit of multiple people connecting on day one/week one then abolish the world wide release date.

Pokemon had a world wide release date last year for the first time (along with Poke Bank) and that destroyed the Nintendo Network completely.

Staggered releases, although annoying for those who have to wait, will hopefully ensure the servers can keep up.

I love reliving my childhood from halo to halo 3 I can not get enough of this game. The multilayer I could care less for I bought this game just for campaign nothing else.

TechLife I don't have the game, but I'd just like to say people should be patient. When has a company released multiple games into one like this? It's a new venture that will have bugs but once fixed it will be great.

I agree with you on this. You have a good point about being patient!

I disagree they should have had all of these bugs and glitches fixed from the start. I don't care if 343 has to delay the game for a few more months or a year or 2 as long as the game is well tested and has very little to no bugs then I'm fine with the game and get my money's worth. I don't know about you but I find these matchmaking issues to be unacceptable and 343 industries should've had all these issues handled before the game's
release.

I couldn't agree with you more Halo MCC will go down in history as the most broken game ever shipped I'm honestly not even getting halo 5 due to this **** up I don't expect them to do any better with that game either

How would they have fixed this kind of thing by launch? The only reason there are matchmaking issues is because of the amount of people trying to play. There is no way to test that out before launch. How about this do the campaigns first and then once they are done fixing this you can play multiplayer.

Campaign and Forge were broken too ya muppet :P

Who wouldn't blame them? I bought this game to mainly play online, and it's bad lol. But once it's fixed it'll be really fun, just wait a week at max and it'll be perfect
