Launched in late October as part of PS4 system update 2.0, Share Play enables a second user to enjoy multiple software features remotely without having to own the game being played by the host, including taking control of the title during sixty minute sessions.
However, GameSpot reports that once a Share Play session has been set up with another user, their screen simply displays an error message saying: "Viewing the game screen that the host is currently playing is not allowed due to content restrictions in your country or region."
This is the first EA game to block the Share Play feature, although it is by no means the first PS4 game in general to do so. Activision blocked the feature for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and Call of Duty: Ghosts, and other titles - such as Tomb Raider, Wolfenstein: The New Order and Thief - have followed suit.
During a PS4 event in October, Sony ducked our attempts to find out if all publishers were on board with Share Play, but a company representative did tell GameSpot that Share Play "works across all PS4 games" and there was no existing option to enable developers to opt out.
