Activision ordering the removal of Call of Duty glitch YouTube videos

Activision has taken a tough stance against YouTube videos that reveal glitches for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, according to reports.

The publisher has apparently been issuing copyright strikes on YouTube videos that show viewers glitches or cheats that exist within the game.

Machinima, a large YouTube network, reportedly sent a warning to its partners last week urging them to "be careful".

"Activision is being particularly vigilant about their Call of Duty videos lately; issuing strikes on videos showing glitches. If you post videos highlighting these glitches, your channel may be liable to receive a copyright strike so please be careful," read the email notice, posted online via Eurogamer.

In a follow-up statement to the site, Activision claimed that it's action against such videos for Advanced Warfare is no more aggressive than usual.

"Occasionally, some folks post videos that promote cheating and unfair exploits," said the firm. "As always, we keep an eye out for these videos - our level of video claims hasn't changed."

Sledgehammer Games released a new Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare patch on Xbox One and PS4 last week, introducing connectivity optimisations, in addition to multiplayer and Exo Survival fixes.

"We're taking your feedback seriously and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare is getting better because of it," said the developer.
