Steam Broadcasting now in beta

Starting today on Steam, users can watch their friends play games through the new Steam Broadcasting feature that is now in beta.

Steam users can watch their friends play by clicking on "Watch Game" on their profile or via their Friend's list.

On the Steam Broadcasting page it states that both you and your friend need to opt into the Steam Client Beta.

To try out Broadcasting now, both you and your friends need to opt into the Steam Client Beta. In the Steam client main menu, select Settings > Account and change your "Beta Participation" to "Steam Beta Update".

It's not Twitch, nor should it be like Twitch. It is NOT a Twitch competitor.

JRMH If you bring up Twitch, you're an idiot. This obviously isn't meant to be some large scale viewing service, simply something to watch your friends or w/e. Idk what the purpose is entirely but definitely not to compete with Twitch, lol

Damn right! MLG.tv I thought was going to be cool but I didn't like it.
This would be good for me if I had a PC (Xmas :D) and had friends on pc!
