It didn't lose hype. People just get mad that they can't get Gjallahorn every time they do a level. With house of wolves coming soon there will be lots more to do like ranking up to the 40's instead of staying at 32 as the max.

You only get rewards per difficulty once a week per character, so lets say I have three characters, which I do, and I did the nightfall on all three characters then I would have to wait till the server resets to do the nightfall again on all three for rewards. Now you can do the raids and stuff as much as you'd like you just wont get anything for replaying it unless you go from normal to hard.
