Xbox 360 now supporting 2TB hard drives

Microsoft announced that the next update for Xbox 360 Preview Program members will allow the use of 2TB hard drives. The update will later move to those not in the Preview Program later this year. Adding to this, they will also no longer reserve space in advance on your hard drive.

Microsoft does note that some drives may be incompatible or have performance issues.

"The next update for Xbox 360 Preview Program members will allow the use of 2TB hard drives to store Xbox 360 data. If you are not part of the Preview program you will get this functionality later this year. In addition we will also no longer reserve space in advance on your hard drive."


Note: Some drives may be incompatible or have performance issues. If you already have space reserved for storing Xbox 360 data, you will need to clear the Xbox 360 storage to gain full access to the drive. If you are in the Preview program, please review the list of known issues before formatting your drive.

Not sure why they couldn't implement this when the 360 was actually the current gen console. Definitely would've been useful to some people.

I had an update today and I just remembered I am part of the preview program, lol. Now I know what it was for. Cool addition, though I won't ever use it since I usually am on my One now.

Still, I have like two games installed and a few extra small things, it has took up 72GB out of my 500GB HDD on Xbox One. Ignore the 360 HDD, like jheeez.


but xbox one already has huge hdd support, bite the bullet and upgrade the hdd already. I maxxed my 500gb hdd a long time ago and the external hdd loads faster and i still have about 1.6 tb left to play with now.

Cabaye You could buy a 2TB hard drive for your 360... Or you could keep the £80 you'd spend on it, sell your 360 & games and get yourself a current gen console.

360 is past gen now. Get with it people

or maybe just people who like to play all games? I have a ps4,xbone,360 and built pc,i'm not poor and still play 360...smh to people who only play one platform, "get with it people"
