Fallout 4 isn’t coming to PS3 or Xbox 360 as it “will never work”

Fallout 4 isn’t in development for last-gen consoles, despite what the official website’s source code showed earlier this week.


According to a post on NeoGAF from Bethesda’s global community lead Matt Grandstaff, Fallout 4 will skip last-gen because the “stuff we’re doing will never work there,” he said.

When Bethesda officially announced Fallout 4 on June 3, neither PS3 nor Xbox 360 were mentioned, which isn’t really much of a surprise. The source code, which I am not super great at interpreting for any website, may have been referring to other content on the back end.

Whatever the case, it’s for PC, PS4 and Xbox One only.

Bethesda’s E3 showcase will take place the Sunday evening before E3 and the media will get a 20-30 minute behind closed doors demo at the annual E3 show. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about the latest entry in the series come June 14.

Why do people care about graphics so much? TO me it just seems like people are just a tab bit jealous that all the talk about games are always around consoles instead of pcs. I mean of course graphics on the PC is going to be better... developers build games on PC first then port it over to consoles. The whole argument about it is stupid.

To me, as long as Fallout 4 graphics are HD and fluid then that's fine to me.

Some of us cannot afford an Xbox One or a PS4 yet. That doesn't mean we should not be allowed to play game like this.


Last gen is 10 years old and a totally different architecture than current gen consoles. Just because people can't afford it doesn't mean the developers should have to spend more time and money making two separate versions. It has to happen eventually because they can't move forward with old hardware.

Console gaming is more expensive than PC gaming.
Games all $60+
Have to buy a whole new one every 10 years meanwhile PC just needs a simple $200 upgrade.


Wrong, every 3 - 5 years you pretty much need to rebuild the whole computer. Games still cost $60 on steam when they first come out.


Kinda funny considering my friend's pc is about 6 years old yet can still run todays games.

Some games can cost about $60 when you buy them on Steam, yes. That's why you just go and use a different vendor to buy the games for half the price.

It doesn't make the game better, it makes the experience better. Would you rather get shit frame rates and sub par graphics or would you like to have a smooth and polished game to play? Also the 30vs60 is real, look at one at a time, cover the 60 fps video and watch the 30 fps for about 10 seconds then do the same for the 30.

I saw this coming from the start. When the trailer released, I noticed almost immediately that last-gen wasn't going to be supported simply because the content is to hi-res to support them.
