Activision Talks about Call Of Duty Remasters

Activision CEO spoke with GameInformer recently about the possibility of getting a remastered Call of Duty title for the PS4 and Xbox One; Hirshberg said that they don’t have any announcements to make today on that, but it’s something “we talk about and think about a lot.”

Hirshberg says that even he would love to see Modern Warfare 1 and Black Ops be remastered, but they need to find developers and resources to make that happen. They have to focus their current team on new experiences.

“If done well, I think [remasters] can be great,” Hirshberg says. “You talk about nostalgia, and people have such connection to the games they love from the last cycle. They want to see what it would look like if someone did it right for this cycle. It’s always the opportunity cost, meaning we need every body we can get to make the content we’re already committed to for our new games. It’s always a matter of finding great people to do that work. I would love to play Modern Warfare 1 or the original Black Ops. There’s certainly a deep well there. No announcements, but it’s something we talk about and think about a lot.”

They are only talking about this because the reverse compadability for the Xbox One.
Now they get to make more money on old shit & justify not allowing previous CoDs to be put on the new gen.
& will try to say some bull like,"we really wanted to harness the new graphical capabilities of the next gen & you a new gen experience with these classic games."
It's disgusting honestly.


do you blame them? its stupid to allow certain games to be replayed without making some financial profit blame the gamers who will pay for this.


I do because they brand themselves as a company who is all for the gamer and always evolving to fit gamers' needs and if they are going to do that then they need to actually put action behind their words. Not do some easily seen through bull like this.

It would be a money thing for me. There is no way I would buy each one of the COD's again for $60 each. I really hope they would do 2 packs, one with the Modern Warfare Series and then another with Black Ops and W@W, each sell for $30.

For them to do this right I'd have to say that they use All MW's weapons, maps, and killstreaks. Or maybe let the fans vote and decide what's in the game that way? Same with all of Treyarch's games.
