Confirmed: Fallout 4 will run at 1080p and 30fps on PS4, Xbox One, PC Unlimited

Fallout 4 will run at 1080p and 30 frames-per-second on everything, it has been revealed.

Fallout 4 director Todd Howard confirmed the news to Digital Spy at this year's E3 gaming expo.

"It is 1080p on everything," he said, before confirming that it would run at 30fps and not 60fps.

Fallout 4, which is set in post-apocalyptic Boston, is the first new entry in the role-playing series since 2010's New Vegas.

Players will be able to build structures and defences within the game world, while mod support has been confirmed for PC, followed by Xbox One.

Update 2: After the comments by Pete Hines we removed this from our homepage but today Bethesda has confirmed that it's indeed true.
Update: Bethesda confirmed that the PC version of the game will be uncapped, and that 1080p/30fps only applies to the console versions.

1080p alright but 30fps I'm assuming fallout 3 was the same fps wise I haven't played it much so I'm not sure.

Tree_Fiddy I can't tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps anyways. Even asked my friends and they can't either. Won't affect me or my friends so haha to all you hard core PC gamers, looks like console and PC will look the same xD


If you can tell the difference it's because you have convinced yourself to the point you cant tell. There is really a major difference. 60 is smoother. 30 looks choppy.

This is for console. PC won't be frame locked. Even if it is, there will be mods to allow more..
