Confirmed: competitive Call of Duty is ditching Xbox One for PS4

After some speculation, Treyarch confirmed that competitive Call of Duty has switched over to PlayStation.

When Activision announced that starting this year, PlayStation owners will be the ones getting Call of Duty will DLC early, some fans – especially those who follow or participate in the eSports end – were not sure what to think.

On one hand, the switch means more people will get access to Call of Duty’s pro scene, based on the PlayStation 4 sales numbers. On the other hand, things like competitive play and MLG have relied on Xbox consoles for as long as the game has been relative in the scene, and switching consoles now would require a lot logistical work that can be avoided.

It appears that when Sony said PlayStation is the new home of Call of Duty, they meant it. During last night’s Black Ops 3 livestream, which focused on eSports, Treyarch’s David Vonderhaar confirmed that the pro scene will all switch to PS4.

Imagine that. The Call of Duty Championships will be decorated with blue colours instead of green.

I don't think anyone other than the sweaty 12 year old hardcore Sony fanboys care.

CoD ran its course and it's now done. This would be something bigger if it happened back in Mw2 or something but now the game is practically struggling to live, no one cares for this scene.

I can honestly say I think the only reason CoD went to Ps4 was for the fact that the company knew CoD was done and by letting Sony buy them out, they'd make more money. I can't see it as anything else other than that. Not even the
"Well Ps4 sells more!!! "
CoD is done. It was a quick sellout for extra cash. Simples.

Mubb I can't see much love for BO3 anyway so no one cares. If they finally release a good CoD, Xbox will have it back.


Id be surprised if this isn't one of the best cods ever. I mean you have treyarch zombies(that alone makes the game worth buying in my opinion), 4 player co-op campaign(incredibly awesome), and treyarch has never made a bad multiplayer.

Not really sure how I feel about this. Doesn't affect me directly, but do know all those who are competitive will face console switching thoughts.
