Call of Duty: Black Ops III Beta’s New Trailer Shows Combat Movement,

4.7
Activision Just released a new trailer of Call of Duty: Black Ops III‘s upcoming beta, featuring a glimpse on the combat movement you’ll be able to use while fragging other specialists on the field.

The trailer is narrated by Design Director David Vonderhaar and Multiplayer Director Dan Bunting, and also comes topped by some really snazzy graphics, that never hurt.

Interestingly, we also see some water combat. When I tried the game at Gamescom, hiding in the water definitely helped me make up for my proverbial FPS ineptitude, lining-up quite a few sneaky kills. Of course, my opponents weren’t nearly moving around as quickly as those portrayed in the video.

The beta will start on August 19 for PlayStation 4 and on August 26 for Xbox One and PC, but in the meanwhile you can check the video out below.

I really hope they return to old school call of duty exos got boring real quick and now you can wall run turning into prince of persia

I'm unsure about the running along walls feature, but I kind of like that you are now able to be within the water.

It's amazing how many responses are asking for the developers to slow down the gameplay to a more traditional state or even return to WWII. I'll be honest, as someone who's played CoD since CoD 2 on 360 when it came out (great game btw) some of the most intense gun fights I've engaged in were those that took both patience and time to unfold. The thought of charging my enemy full sprint would be pure suicide and required planning to set up a flank or suppress them enough to get in range for an explosive. Sure, there were times I'd run and gun like a mad man. Hell I still miss the MP40 and jug on HQ, but that's neither here nor there. I won't lie this game looks amazing for an FPS, but as an old school CoD fan it's just not my cup of tea.

The devs have done a great job with it and it looks phenomenal, however what nobody wants to talk about (well we all complain about it) is LAG. When you speed up gameplay, ping becomes a much more relevant variable. When there is more time for the player to react lag is still relevant, but not as much of a focus on the duel between players and for the love of god don't get me started on the "dedicated servers" that we were promised at one point which turned out to be "hybrid servers". And then there's the dreaded lag compensation we've all grown to love. Faster gameplay = more noticeable lag. FACT.

My rant is almost over and if you've made it this far I commend you...I also just got the cookies out of the oven for you, read on while they cool...

To finish things off, I'd suggest an ideal CoD being one that focuses less on killstreaks, more on gun to gun combat at medium/range with a map flow to allow choke points for shotties/subs, traditional 3 lane arena style combat maps with newer mechanics such as a slide and include some underwater combat. We don't need to go back to WaW (although I would LOVE that), but let's stop going further into the future where robots do all the work. I like to feel connected to each kill.

Thanks for reading, hopefully some of you feel the same way about this and I'm not just crazy and hopefully you like chocolate chip...you've earned it. Comments?

It really doesn't seem much different then the advanced warfare exo movements, except they are limited, it's cool that you can unlimited sprint now, because I always sprint and I hated in BO1 that you had to have the marathon pro perk to do it. The swimming in water is pretty cool though, It's nice that you can shoot underwater too. Seems like a really fast paced game.

Bleach I'll admit it looks better than AW, but the constant movement is what ruined AW for me. In previous call of duty's I was able to earn high kill streaks by playing the map. If these maps involve constant movement and verticality, it will be hard to play the map with how dynamic and twisted it looks. It seems like it will be just as annoying to play even though the content seems more fulfilled and better thought out. I have my worries, but I guess I'll find out when the beta comes out.

Activision even admitted that 9/10 players will be playing on widescreen monitors/tv's, the vertical jumping and map building element to this recent titles are just plain stupid. Players with decent skill who can actually eliminate people on the ground will be constantly shot by a kid standing somewhere above.

It's a battle for the higher ground, what happened to the 3 lanes a MW2 or Black Ops 2 map would normally have.

This isn't Call of Duty anymore.. This series was built on the foundation of balanced weapons with simple mechanics. All of this crap with kill streaks, jumping, wall running, etc takes the skill that once once required to kill in this FPS.

Activision obviously have there target market aimed at the typical 12 year old.

Ok, so did I just watch black ops 3 or Titan Fall 2 ???

I wish they would go back to original call of duty ground warfare. No future, no super movements or anything... Just good old combat on the ground like mw2 or cod4

It looks better than AW, But I wish they would've made WAW 2
