Evidence Points to PS2 Games on PS4 Thanks to Firmware Update 3.00Beta

Some rumours apparently don’t want to die. Yesterday one that was being reported hinted at the possibility of backwards compatibility on the Playstation 4, now further “proof” has been found.

If the rumour is found to be true, it appears that it may be coming the playstation 4 3.00 firmware update, which is currently in beta. PlaystationLifestyle.net are reporting that while the original source for the rumour has stated it was fake, more images are emerging showing more proof. As you can see in the image, the game shown War of the Monsters is yet another game said to be used to test this so-called backwards compatibility.



With no actual proof of this rumour being true other than the images taken from the Beta testing it is hard to really work out any legitimacy in the rumour at all. While there is logic in the Playstation 4 getting some form of backwards compatibility in the future, Sony have always downplayed this being the case, but could it be all a smokescreen to suddenly reveal it in a future firmware update like 3.00?

With Microsoft pushing Xbox One’s backwards compatibility which will be coming in November, the reaction from the fans has shown that this is something that they want. Sony holding back on this did seem questionable, but we have to remember that they have their Playstation Now service that they still need to push.

Xbox one can already play 360 games on backwards compatibility, and the original Xbox is coming also according to Phil Spencer on Twitter. Also the ps4 can't play PS3 games so the joke is on you. Also in not an Xbox fanboy, just an informed PC master racer.


PS4 can in fact play PS3 games. It's through PS Now. So clearly you're not informed at all. So your credibility has gone out of the window. There are only a limited amount of games from the 360 you can use. PS Now works on a subscription, but you get unlimited STREAMING of games. It's all subject to opinion, but imo I'd rather pay $20 to play an unlimited amount of games on a whole bunch of platforms, rather than paying $20 to play one single game.

Oh and PC can't be a master race. For that to be true then there would have to be a scale on which you can measure how well the PC performs compared to all other gaming platforms. There isn't one. So, it's all subject to opinion. And your opinion has such little credibility, you might as well be a junkie hooker from Reno.


So, you would rather pay a subscription for game(s) you already own? You're hysterical! You're only paying $20 for a month of subscription! Which in my opinion is useless. Your either paying for a 1 Month which goes for $19.99 or 3 Month which is $44.99. PS Now is not worth any penny if you have to renew and will most likely lose your games once your subscription runs out. I mean if you want to pay extra for games you have already, be my guest.


Ok kinda feel I have to jump in here, first off you lost all appearance of intelligence when you opened your mouth, where did he say he already owns those games? He didn't you assumed he did, all of your points are made on assumptions and for a "pc master race" you come off as an immature xbox fan boy, simple facts, xb1 backwards compatability has an extremely limited scope of games, p's now doesn't, sure there's pros and cons to both maybe your Internet connection sucks and couldn't handle it? Who knows. Before you speculate on things that your seemingly narrow and juvenile mind can't comprehend at least try to use a little google even a 90 year old bingo dwelling granny can do that so go use your leet master race pc for a quick search if your un sure where to look open a Web browser there's a little icon that looks like a blue e and type in the bar at the top google.com and then when it's loaded type your question... welcome to the Internet son

lol you clearly dont know or not inform dont post on a console you know nothing about ps4 can play ps3 games way before the xbox all in one since ps4 and vita both can play them through ps now so please have sources saying it cant because it can please dont post on ps stuff if you dont own one or just fan boying
