No single-player campaign mode for Black Ops 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will only have multiplayer and zombie mode on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The announcement popped up on the Call of Duty community blog, and states that, “The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware.”

So if you pick up Black Ops 3 on PS3 or Xbox 360, you’ll only be able to play the multiplayer mode and the zombies mode.

The last gen versions will also be lacking in “features built to leverage the next generation hardware like the new Weapon Paint Shop and the new suite of eSports tools [which] will only be available on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.”

With that in mind, the RRP for the game on older platforms is $49.99 and will include a “bonus download for the original Call of Duty: Black Ops (bonus download availability may vary by region)”.

I don’t know that many CoD players care that much about the campaign, so is the absence of it something that they’ll be upset about? Should we all have switched over to this gen already anyway, almost two years into this console cycle? Let us know what you think about this move in the comments below.

Be happy they took the effort to make it on old gen.

Not there fault, they can only do so much.


I wouldn't really call this an "effort". 1/3 of the game is missing and the Black Ops 1 bonus isn't worth it. The lobbies in that game is a ghost town. I think they should rather release the full game, or don't release it at all.

Blame the old ass hardware on the 360 and PS3. Be grateful this shit is even PLAYABLE on last gen. I guarantee the next cod wont be on last gen and that's no ones fault at all.


Be grateful? Why? They got rid of a big portion of the game and it's $50. 4-player co-op campaign on CoD isn't new. The engine they're using isn't new. I'm pretty sure the xbox360/ps3 is powerful enough to handle a painting mechanic. The ports for last gen are being handled by a third party that obviously doesn't know what they're doing.
Development for PS2 games didn't stop until 2013, that's 7 years after the PS3 launched. As I said, release the entire thing, or not at all.

Yeah I'm with you on that, plus let's be honest it's been 2 years since the release of current gen, now if you saved your cash and bought a new console rather than new games for an old console maybe you wouldn't give a shit that 1/3 of the game isn't playable on out dated hardware....


the paint shop can be used on 360 and ps3 as they said their holding it out to leverage ps4 xbox one its an incentive to buy those versions.

That's what people who still use old gen hardware deserve. Get with the times and get a machine that can play these games at beautiful resolution and frame rate. Even it is just an Xbox One or PS4. But the 360 is so outdated it's actually funny.

Not everybody is able is able to afford to upgrade to a current gen console and are stuck with last gen, it's not their fault.


Jesus enough with this "can't afford" bullshit. You can get a bundle for $299 or shit get a USED CONSOLE. Used consoles are practically anywhere from $200-250.
