Yoshida on PSN name changes “we don’t know if we can ever do it”

Sony is looking into one of PSN users’ most-requested features, but it may never happen.


Sony has yet to deliver a top-requested feature to PlayStation Network users everywhere; the ability to change account names. According to Sony’s Shuhei Yoshida, as of right now, the company doesn’t know if it can be done.

Here he is answering this fan question.

Microsoft offers users the ability to change their Gamertags any number of times, with the first time being free.x

2.99 ? on xbox 360 it still costs like $10 to change your name !!!

I can see why he would say it couldnt be done since it they would have to do it for ps3 and ps4. They probably have geared away from ps3 which would make something simple like this more difficult.

I don't know, I feel like if they wanted to do it they could. It has been a feature on Xbox Live for years and years now.
