Video: Leaked Last-Gen Black Ops 3 Gameplay (It's not Pretty)

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 releases this week, and while the majority of the focus has inevitably been placed on the current-gen console versions of the game, it's also set to release on the PS3 and Xbox 360, too. But while it was inevitable that the visuals of the last-gen versions of the game wouldn't be able to compete with their PS4 and Xbox One counterparts, leaked PS3 gameplay footage below suggests that it looks far worse than was anticipated.

The 5-minute clip highlights a game of TDM taking place on one of the game's new maps, but rather than its gameplay being the most eye-catching aspect of the footage, the biggest talking point is instead its lackluster visuals. The map is littered with low-poly and, in many cases, practically non-existent textures, with both buildings and scenery appearing blurry. If this is what the final build of the game looks like, which is very likely given that the clip was uploaded yesterday and the game will release on Friday, it looks like a lot of last-gen Call of Duty players are going to be disappointed.

JRMH Well, this is great news! Don't play on old gen, simple as that. Why are you buying new games if you're not buying new consoles? Stick to bo2 if you're gonna play last gen, let us have the good games and stop complaining. These companies aren't here to entertain you, they're here to make money. Continue to be the 1% while we enjoy decent graphics.


Most users (like myself) who own a Xbox 360 (or PlayStation 3) or as you call it old gen like to play on these because we know them inside & out. maybe we have a lot of friends and family on the old gen too. I like it because its easy, basic, & seems like communication to players is better then the Xbox 1. I also like it because my Favorite games are on there(MW2, MW3 & BO1.).

agoon the problem isn't that it looks bad on old consoles. it's that BO2 looks WAY better than this and it was produced over 4 years ago. doesn't make sense when they've just updated certain elements. this was strictly a move by activision to force old gen owners hand to get a new console.

this version looks like they intentionally used crappy colors and textures.

You have to look at the specs on the new gen consoles and compare them to the old gen. This may look worse than black ops 2 but you have to look at what all was added to the multiplayer. And not just making assumptions that they're intentionally trying to make people upgrade. Even if they are oh well. Old gen is messing up all of the next gen games because of limitations


I couldn't agree more, game developers are still taking into consideration old generation consoles, which is limiting the next gen. This is the first game that truly drops the old console and they should. Imagine if they didn't have to take into consideration the old consoles, who knows what extra features we could have had, because they didn't limit themselves. And you say they would just drop the feature in the old console, well no because then it would look like they dropped more features and more complaints would be because of it

The game still looks pretty fun and I wouldn't let some graphics get in the way.
