Speaking to fans through Twitter, Xbox head Phil Spencer spoke on the availability of the Xbox One Elite controller in stores since its release in late October. As Spencer congratulated a fan’s photo of their newly-obtained Elite controller, Spencer stated that “we keep shipping more in but they sell out instantly.”
Spencer’s statement reflects that, hopefully, Microsoft is aware of the Elite controller’s high demand, as the major game retailers such as Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Target, Walmart, and more have consistently sold out both online and in-store shipments of the controller, and even Microsoft’s own online store have been out of stock.
While the standalone controller (normally retailing for $149.99) has been hard to come by on store shelves and online, Microsoft has offered an alternative to getting it with the Xbox One 1TB Elite bundle, which packs in an Xbox One console with the Elite controller for $499.99. However, hopefully with Spencer’s statement, the Elite controller’s high demand can maybe lead to more stock of the controller in the near future.
The Xbox One Elite controller is available now.
@MASABELDIABLO @Xbox @majornelson @aarongreenberg I'm glad you found one. We keep shipping more in but they sell out instantly.
