Call of Duty 2016 Confirmed In Development By Infinity Ward

Call of Duty 2016 has been confirmed to be in development by Infinity Ward, the developers of Call of Duty Ghosts that was released in 2013 during the launch of PS4 and Xbox One. We still don’t know whether their new game is COD: Ghosts 2, COD: Advanced Warfare 2 or a sequel to an older Call of Duty like Modern Warfare. Call of Duty Ghosts was the weakest entry in the series. It was developed by Infinity Ward and released in 2013 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Wii U. It was riddled with bugs at launch and also faced harsh criticism over its multiplayer and single player content.

The next Call of Duty was from Sledgehammer Games who released a brand new entry in the Call of Duty series called Advanced Warfare. It was released in 2014 for the PS3, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC. The game was an improvement over Ghosts in almost every way.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is the latest release from Treyarch Studios and Infinity Ward are again looking to be the developers of the next Call of Duty. Among the potential sequels, they can either develop a sequel to Ghosts, Advanced Warfare or go back and work on Modern Warfare 4. Hopefully we will know more about the next Call of Duty as we get closer to E3 2016.

Wasn't this rather something everyone already knew? Since Sledgehammer got singed on to make Advanced Warfare, it was shown that now developers would have a 3 year cycle instead of a 1 year cycle. IW = Ghosts, Sledgehammer = Advanced Warfare, Treyarch = Black Ops 3, IW = CoD 2016, and so on. Either way, I'm hoping they don't make a Ghosts 2 or another futuristic game. Honestly I would love an MW4. Yeah MW3 wasn't all that great (apart from campaign,) but after having the cycle of future stuff, I think going back to the MW series would feel refreshing. Plus, I'm still hanging onto the rumour I heard a while back, something about a Trearch developer tweeting an IW developer about the ending of MW3, which apparently it went by Price getting a call after he killed "Makarov" with the phone call saying "did you have fun killing me, Price?" I haven't found that tweet, and like I said, it was a rumour, but it's still enough to keep me interested in a possible MW4, even if it was made up.

People are crying about Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer, and Treyarch making bad games, but in reality it's Activision's fault. They're forcing the RNG bull down the consumer throats, as well as trying to include SBMM into BO3 currently. It's quite annoying.

Sundown Cod franchises bust out a new game every year. They should all just take some time and make a decent game. Not all this futuristic bullshit.


Infinity Ward and Treyarch use to take two years to make each game, and they were good. With the exception of the last few, and with Sledgehammer Games coming into the mix, this gives each developer 3 years to make the games. This is plenty of time to make an outstanding game, considering COD 4, W@W, and MW2 were all made with only a 2 year time period.

For those of you that played the Ghosts campaign, like myself then it is pretty obvious that the next game will be Call of Duty: Ghosts 2. Unless they just abandon the entire idea of the series due to how poorly the first Ghosts did.

The last game left off on a HUGE cliffhanger, this is my reasoning behind this theory.

lolohnoeszsz Pretty sure it'll be Ghosts 2 due to the first game's cliffhanger ending. I just hope the MP isn't like the first game with the shit maps, guns, lag comp, etc. Also no thrusters or exo suits.


Personally, I liked the multiplayer maps. I don't understand why people seem to dislike them so much, the guns were good, and I had little to no lag throughout the whole time that I have played it.

People have been saying it's gonna be Ghosts 2, and then some has been saying that it's gonna be Modern Warfare 4. Who knows?
