Gears of War 4 Open Beta Now Available to all on Xbox One

Xbox Live Gold members rejoice – the open beta for Gears of War 4 is now available on Xbox One.

This beta is for the multiplayer alone and promises some new maps, characters and modes from the closed beta that was going on since April 18th. The open beta will be available until May 1st and if you hit level 20, you’ll receive some exclusive rewards for use in the final game.

Despite some glitches and other errors – which will always exist, despite other betas for games making you think otherwise – the multiplayer is actually an interesting diversion, especially with modes like Dodgeball. Whether it has any real staying power will be decided when the game fully launches.

Gears of War 4 releases on October 11th for Xbox One and if you pick up the Ultimate Edition, you can play it four days earlier. What are your thoughts on the current open beta? Let us know in the comments.

Definitely going to check it out! I've never been a huge Gears fan but they're typically good games to waste some time on.

I was looking for this earlier but i obviously looked to early but now the beta is open im going to hop on and play, Been waiting for this!
