Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare listed on PS Store

Two Call of Duty rumors have popped up online today: one is that it’s set for a reveal next week, the other: it’s subtitled Infinite Warfare.

A reveal date of May 3 was posted online through a retailer, according to a tweet from Jim Sterling. The listing has a “replace header image” notation next to it and “call of Duty reveal” next to it.

Then over on reddit, user Goontmyfries found what appears to be a listing for the title Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare listed on the PlayStation Store.

Previous rumors regarding the title stated the Infinity Ward-developed shoot would be set in the far future and features space combat between “warring sci-fi groups.”

Activision said in early March the game would debut at E3 this year. It is also reportedly releasing in early November, which is likely accurate considering the franchise’s previous release history.

As far as Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare or the rumored May 3 reveal date is concerned, we’ll send Activision an email and ask about it. If we hear back, we’ll let you know.

In the meantime, it’s still considered a rumor for obvious reasons.

Im not too fond of the name. Not too fond of the game as well. I really hope Infinity Ward brings something new and enjoyable to the table this year.

Horrific, childish name and no doubt horrific storyline and setting, Call of Duty isn't even a shadow of its former self now days, it's incredibly disappointing.

Not saying it is futuristic, but just judging from the name.. can we stop with the futuristic warfare? I can handle a setting that is similar and realistic to the current time's style of combat, but every time I see something about the "next generation of warfare" I instantly lose interest. Better yet, let's go back to my personal favorite (from a video game standpoint): WWI & WWII.

I really hope the Battlefield 5 goes this route, because if it is widely popular then maybe CoD developers would be forced to consider going back. And I'm not talking a remake, I'm talking a new game with different or additional perspectives on the war, aka World At War II. Plus, WWI & WWII are much more interesting than modern combat.

TL;DR: Like someone else said, the drones are getting old. Take me back to World War II.
