Fully equip one of your followers.
Each of the three followers can equip a total of 6 items, which you can give to them by hitting Select and tabbing over to Follower (assuming you have a follower following you at that time). Each follower can equip a main and offhand, two rings, a necklace and a special item (Templar = Tome, Scoundrel = Token , Enchantress = Focus). These items will start dropping as early as level 21.
