The Liteon's PCB is covered in a green laquer coating making it pretty impossible to solder to the points.

So we recommend you use a Fiber Glass Scratch Pen as an inexpensive way to clean up the traces. Naturally this takes some effort to do it right. If you want it to look neat and tidy just put some tape around the traces that you want to expose - simple

This is how the PCB should look when you have prepped the traces correctly. As you can see the copper is exposed and they are ready for cutting and tinning.
