The gauge required is the "Blind Master" gauge, which is gained by getting an "A" on all episodes on any difficulty

This disables all gauges being visible throughout the game (Infinity, health, burst and the overheat gauge), meaning you won't know how close or far you are from filling the burst gauge. Plan your moves, and attack patiently. To make this easier, do this on easy difficulty. Unlimited mode is automatically activated with this gauge equipped.
