In this Tutorial I show you how to Enable your Console for Xbox Companion in 12 easy steps.
Xbox Companion is like a preview of Smartglass coming this Holiday season. It's a small sample of what we can expect. Now we not only are limited to Xbox on only our consoles, but now we have control of it through our devices through the already well known 'MyXboxLive' app.So without anymore unnecessary talk, lets get into what you need to do this.
Requirements:
-An Xbox with an Updated Dashboard
-A mobile device or Tablet with the App 'My Xbox Live'
version 1.5 or later installed.
-Your Xbox Live account Email and Password
-Knowledge on how to navigate through the xbox dashboard
Text Tutorial:
1.Turn on your Xbox Console.
2.Once on the Xbox Home(Dashboard) go over to the 'Settings' Tab on the top of your screen.
3.Go down and select 'System'
4.Then click on 'Console Settings'
5.You will then need to scroll down to the Second to last option called 'Xbox Companion'.Select it.
6.You want to make sure you have this option set as 'Available'
7.Once you have completed those steps you can now go back to the main 'Xbox Home' screen and head over to your device with "MyXboxLive" installed while leaving your Xbox ON.
8.Sign into your Xbox account on the app if you haven't already.
9.Swipe 3 pages to the right so that you are on the 'Quickplay' Tab of the app.
10.Tap the big 'Connect to Xbox' button on the top of the page
11.After Loading your Xbox should show with a notification saying you are Connected with Xbox Companion.
12.Now here's the fun parts. With Xbox Companion (using Smartglass technology) you can start Apps and Games on your Xbox from your Device.
Press the 3 Tiny Dots on the bottom right of the screen, then press 'Controller' to navigate your Xbox from your device by pressing the corresponding buttons like you would with your normal Xbox Controller.
Now go and experience it yourself and Enjoy!

Dummazz420 my android doesnt have the quickplay tab either
It a shame how it's only out for iPhone and iPad. When I first made this TuT my understanding was that it was already out for all devices. But I'm sure microsoft will make Android have the features in v1.7 which might not be far away. If not, Smartglass isn't far away either. Sorry, I wish you could edit your TuTs. Good Luck

Flee I'm on my iPad, and when i scroll 3 times and it doesnt have a quickplay tab. The tabs i have is home , social , and games. any help?
I apologize for the issues. It turns out this only is available for IPhone, Android, and obviously Windows Phone users. I assumed it worked with tablets like the iPad but it turns out that it does not have the same features. You can only just wait until Smartglass is released which isn't far away. Sorry for the unconvinience.
