Sega's Flipping Guide
Hey,
In this guide I will teach you how to effectively "flip" items using the grand exchange. Anyone can flip, whether you're a member or a free player, and it doesn't matter how much money you have. Now obviously the larger your cash stack, the more you will profit, but low wealth flipping is a great way to get that big cash stack!
Let's get on with the guide. The first thing you will want to do is pick an item to flip; try to pick a popular item that is commonly used, like pk items. Well, dragon claws are a popular weapon for the special attack, so let's try those. First, buy the claws for +25% of the market value.
Now that you've done that, go ahead and sell them for -25% of the market price.
Good job! Now we're ready to flip. By right-clicking on the clerk, you can select "history" to view past transactions. Open that window, and look at the two dragon claw trades. The way I imagine it, the "bought" and "sold" are reversed on the two transactions. You reverse them because you want to buy for cheap, and then sell for more. You may want to write the two prices down somewhere so you remember them.
So as we can see, the current minimum price for dragon claws is 12,945,000. Now we will put in an offer to the grand exchange, buying as many claws as our cash stack allows. I suggest raising the buy price slightly, as you will outbid anyone else this way. Once you have the claws bought, go ahead and sell them for the price we discovered in the price check, or a small amount lower as they will potentially sell quicker. When completed, good job! You've completed a successful flip. You can check out the grand exchange history window to see how well you have profited.
As you can see, flipping is an extremely easy way to make money. The best way is to experiment with items, find ones with good profit margins, and stick with it! You also have to remember that flips will not be instantaneous. Quick flips take about 10-20 minutes, but some of the longer, more profitable flips can take up to a day to complete. To help start you off with your flipping careers, I'll give a few items for each level of wealth i have used in the past, these will not be updated.
Low level wealth (5m and less)
-Dragon scimitars
-Dragon platelegs
-Death runes
Medium level wealth (5m to 100m)
-Staff of light
-Abyssal whip
-Bandos tassets
-Dragon claws
High level wealth (100m and over)
-Spirit shields
-Santa hats
-Armadyl godsword
That's it! I hope you have enjoyed my guide, good luck making bils!
