In this tutorial I will be showing you how to fix the common "Sticky disc tray" problem. This is when you press the eject button and the tray does not slide out, or takes way longer than it should.

What you'll need:
-Tools for opening the xbox
-Cotton swabs or paper towels
-WD-40 (or another form of grease)
-Rubbing Alcohol

Step 1)
Open up your xbox completely. Here is a tutorial for those who do not know how: How To Open your xbox 360 without case tool - YouTube (P.S. in the guide when he tells you which screws to remove, you should remove only the ones with a flattened screw head. It will still require a Torx T-12 bit though)

Step 2)
Carefully pick up the DVD drive and unplug the two wires connected to it.

Step 3)
Unscrew the 4 screws holding the drive together

Step 4)
Take off the outer case of the drive by carefully prying apart the areas in which you removed the screws.

It now should look like this:

Step 5)
Now you must get the disc tray to open. To do so you must locate a wheel right underneath the cover for the tray.

After locating the wheel, grab a tiny screw driver (or any similar tiny object) and push the wheel to the right, going from left to right. This should begin to slowly open the tray up. After a couple of spins you should be able to open the rest of the tray by pulling.

*This is for BenQ and Samsung only. If you have a Hitachi you will notice little teeth close to the same spot. You will do the same thing as I did, but instead of pushing the wheel it will be with the teeth.

Now your drive should look like this:

Step 6)
Soak your cotton swab or paper towel in the rubbing alcohol and gently rub it against the inside and outside of the rubber band to clean it. Make sure you rotate the wheel so you clean the entire band.

Step 7)
Now get another swab or towel and soak it in the WD-40 (or grease) and rub it all inside the cogs. Get as many of the cogs creased up as you possibly can.

Step 8)
Reassemble your drive, plug it back into the motherboard, put the case back on and you're done!

Your disc tray should now open with ease.

Damn this seems like a pretty in-depth tutorial for the disc tray fix but I wouldn't even bother messing with it, I'd probably screw something up with the whole 360 and then not be able to play at all. '~'

Seems like a lot of work, but mine has been starting to do this recently and it gets annoying. Going to give it a try later!
