There are 2 ways to to put yourself out.
The beginning pipe. You can avoid it by waiting at the start gate for about 4 seconds.
The "puddle" that's about 15 seconds into the race.Just hit it and go over the large drain pipe and flush the water out.
CAUTION:
Do not slow down for too long, the flame will get bigger.
