lol same, too much money though... the only reason I'd want them is to look cool.
My $20 skullcandies sound the same as my friend's beats lool

Budget: $150 or less

Music preference: skrillex (techno), pop, most genres; i have an array

Type / form factor and portability: doesn't matter, just don't want anything that looks like koss portapro (too weird looking) or abnormally large headphones

Open/Closed (Not for in-ear): whichever one makes it so others can't hear my music (unless in a very quite room, I'm talking on a bus/plane) I'm very insecure about my music choices . I don't want noise cancellation, those cost too much.

Source(s): ?

Side note: I don't really like headphones like the apple ones (not in ear yet kindave in your ear...) i think they're called earbuds. they hurt my ears. I want something that's over ear.

I will be listening from an iPhone 4S

occasionally from my laptop, although not often

my currency is US dollars ($)

Since you're listening to multiple genres, I'd recommend the Audio Technica ATH-M50s for you, too. If your friends have Beats, they should be jealous of you! These compete with the Beats Pro. They isolate quite well and are very comfortable.

No apple headphones, I will use these mainly for Ipod, and phone music, maybe occasional laptop

I would recommend the Hippo VB or the Sony EX510. Both are some of the best bassy IEMs at their price points. The EX510s were released fairly recently.

Lots of M50 recommendations today! They'll handle all of your genres since they have a neutral signature. If you listen to exclusively rock, Grados would be the obvious choice, but if you listen to electronic genres, I'd look for something other than Grados. I'd also avoid overly bassy headphones for your preferences. The Audio Technica M50s strike a very nice balance!

The Koss DJ100 sounds like a pretty good fit for you. They're small for over-ear headphones, and slightly big for on-ears. They're also a great value, and sound great for what you pay.

Koss Portapro. Easily the best you'll get at that budget. Also consider the Koss KSC75 or KSC35. They all sound essentially the same because they use identical or extremely similar drivers.
