Nobody will/should hire you if you use Beats in your studio.

Just skip to 1:40. But let me guess, you know more then someone who is actually a famous rapper?

You really think they know the first thing about audio and that they weren't obviously sponsored by Monster/Beats Electronics? Hook, line, and sinker. Gotta hand it to that marketing team, they sure know how to dupe the masses.

I really don't care if they were sponsored. That's a studio, and they're using Beats.

There's not even anything to master, even if Beats were good for it. It's a stupid bassline and a crappy vocoded voice track with some effects.

I could pay a few rappers to use iBuds in a studio and pretend like they're making music. Would that make those good?

I don't think you could pay them enough to use iBuds. I've seen plently of artist in recording studios on youtube using beats, and I don't see them *****.

It doesn't matter what headphones I pay them to use. I could pay them to use any crap headphones like Beats and they wouldn't think twice. I can factually prove that Beats are terrible for production use.

The fact that a few rappers use them in a studio in a video commissioned by Beats means nothing.

A few rappers using them means more than some random people on TTG.

Numbers don't lie. You have no argument because you can't refute facts. These are bad headphones for production, period. It's not even up for debate because it's not a matter of opinion. Whether they're good for simple music enjoyment is another story, but cheaper headphones still run circles around them. If you'd like more evidence or testimonies from sources well-known in the headphone world, I can get them for you.[/spoil]
Do you think these rappers care about numbers? Only thing they care about is how good it sounds, aka "real world usage."

Rappers using them > Random people on TTG posting charts.
Denying facts backed up by measurements and graphs?

&@%# logic.

You lost every iota of credibility of what little you had left with that post. I guess the pros are idiots for using the Sennheiser HD800 to pick out details in their recordings. I mean, you don't see Soulja Boy rocking those, do you? Nah, they're definitely idiots.

If you're trolling, you done good. I can always pick up on headphone trolls after all my experience, but you may have gotten me.

EDIT: One thing you'll pick up on immediately in the world of consumer tech is that popularity has absolutely nothing to do with the quality of the product.[/spoil]
You're too sensitive, calm down. No one is denying those graphs or saying people are idiots for using Sennheiser, use your reading comprehension skills and stop making assumptions.

When people go and buy headphones I seriously doubt they ask for those charts you posted. They put on each headphone and listen to a song to see which one sounds the best to them. And if beats sound good to people, guess what?

There isn't **** you can do about it.

Yeah there is. I can show them good headphones they like more for half the price.

Or I could let them make a bad decision. It's their decision and if they don't want my help, so be it. I don't care, I just like helping people. What you were/are doing is spreading misinformation, and that's not something I'm going to ignore. Call me what you will, I don't care. People choose to trust me to recommend the best headphone for them and I deliver and they're happy. I know exactly how I sound when I say this, but when people trust decisions like this to people who know their stuff, everyone's happier in the end. I'm not saying their opinions are not valid, but I take their opinions into consideration and direct them to something better based on them.

I'm spreading misinformation because I tell someone to buy beats? Lol, nice thread, but that thread won't make me think anymore highly or less then you than what I already do.
That's not the point I'm getting at. What I'm getting at is that you're saying that Beats are a good choice. That's just not true.
They are a good choice if you're coming from standard ipod headsets.

Tell me I'm wrong.
You are wrong. Of course they'll sound better but instead of the Pro you should get good headphones that are similar and in every way better. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Saying something is better than iBuds is not saying much. You can pay $7 and get much better quality. Why pay $400 for an upgrade when you can pay much less for a better upgrade?

I use to give advice on custom computer builds and make pc builds for other people on other forums.

Sometimes people would come to me and say "I'm scared to build my own computer, can you recommend a good prebuilt computer." And I would tell them they would be better off building their own, but if they want to buy a prebuilt one, I would suggest them one.

The OP didn't make this thread to ask for advice on what what headphones he should buy(well he kinda did but eh..)leave the headphone advice in your thread.

Hmmmm... Nah, don't think I will.

If I don't feel like I can make a good recommendation, I won't make one. I don't call prebuilt PCs or cheap laptops good recommendations unless it's a task-critical workstation machine. Nor will I recommend bad headphones. I could talk all day about this, but it's irrelevant to this thread.

Good thing you don't do this for money. If you did, you would be fired pretty fast.

Why pay $400 for an upgrade when you can pay much less for a better upgrade?[/spoil]

My knowledge on computers most likely vastly outclasses yours. So I don't care what you would call a bad recommendation. But if the person has their heart set on a prebuilt computer then I will recommend one to them.

Good thing you don't do this for money. If you did, you would be fired pretty fast.

Beats are like Call of Duty. Everyone says it's(Call of Duty) bad, but if it was bad, why would people buy them in the first place?

The reason that people buy both those products is because they are what's "cool". They are basically also the most advertised things so people see them the most. When's the last time you saw an Audio-Technica ATH-M50 commercial? You haven't ever, but they could wipe the floor with beats any day of the week. Modern consumers are suckers for media, and also prefer looks over practicality.

OP, if you want to look like a supah' kool gangsta on the street, go for it. But just know that there are WAY better things out there, R00t and Ishcabible could spew on for hours about it, trust me

OP, I go to UGA. I see a lot of white people using them and they don't look lik e"supah' kool gangsta." If you buy them because of name brand, go ahead. That's the same reason people buy Nike shoes and other name brand clothing.

Now, listen. I have seen and heard some stupid things in the two years on this website, but that just tops it. I mean, like totally.

Do you honestly think Beats are good? THEY ARE MADE TO LOOK GOOD. Dre even said it himself, they suck for sound producing. "Yeah but skrillex uses them, so do other rappers" - skrillex uses them to listen to the music.

Provide factual evidence of a sound engineer using beats. Please. Please please please. It doesn't happen, and wont ever because beats are terrible. And if you say that the bass is good, that makes it worse, because even the bass sucks. It's not bass, it's rumble. It's not controlled, and they struggle to produce it. Go listen to some Grados, Sennheisers or Beyerdynamics then tell me beets are good.

If you want hurr durr bass on headphones, then get the Custom One Pros. The bass is actual bass, it's really there, you can hear it, not just feel it.

Beats look good. That's it. In fact, I'd say that HD 25's look better. They're just, junk. Seriously. Ring up a music producer and ask him what headphones he uses, and then ask him what he thinks of beats.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Listen to people who know what sound should sound like (r00t and Ishcabible for example). They should be neutral. Not beats. That word should be banned from TTG. I'm going to go and speak to Sean about it...

I've used Beats, and compared to my standard iPod Touch headsets and standard Galaxy S3 earphones, the beats sound pretty damn good.I honestly don't care who uses beats. It's just annoying seeing people bring up different headphones when the OP asked about what color beats he wanted.

Lol "listen to people who know what sound should sound like" am I being trolled? How are you going to tell someone what something sounds like to them? "BECAUSE THE GRAPHS SAYS SO!!!!" Idc what the graph says, you can't tell someone what something should sound like to them. Most music producers I know don't even use headphones, they use monitors.

Ahh so r00t also gives people advice on computers. I went through some of his post, he seems to know the basics. And he seems to know enough to make the people on here think he's a computer genius.

But my statement still stands.
