Budget: Preferably as low as possible that fit my needs, but willing to go up to $100.

Music preferences: Gaming and Anime mostly

Type/form-factor: On ear or over ear are both ok as long as the headset is the one where it goes over head and not behind ear headphones that go around the back of the head.

Open or closed: Either is ok, whichever is best.

Listening from: Laptop or Desktop

Details:
I need a gaming headset that is DURABLE as my headsets do end up dropping and hitting the floor on occasion. I would prefer if the MIC came with the headset and not separate. They will be mostly used for gaming but on occasions watch anime.

What sort of money would you have to spend on headphone for console gaming to get some nice sound?

I've currently got X41's (old and tired, love them though) however I've been having problems with the wireless on them since I've moved the router (modem or whatever you call it in the US hehe) into my room for better signal. I play a lot of war games, so with noobs being noobs (grenade spamming etc) I get a lot of distortion when there's bass. It's seriously getting on my nerves and actually starting to hurt my ears. I would like to go back to wired, so what would be the best to get for around 150 GBP (don't have to be uber amazing, just decent surround sound, as long as they're as good/better than the X41's they'll be fine for what they do). I'm also tired of buying bloody batteries for them? So annoying!!! Rechargeable ones have pretty much gone, they last 4 hours on a good day.

Oh yeah, and they need to have a mic

Another quick question, are Astro's any good, or as good as everyone makes them out to be? The wired version?

I have a monitor that has sound output built in. I plug my console in there so I just pay for the headphone. $160 will get you a DT770Pro which is pretty nice, or an AD700 for about $90 if bass isn't a big priority. If you don't own a TV/monitor that has a sound output, you'll have to pay an optical cable and a DAC/amp, or one of those Astro Mixamps or whatever.

Xeport 5010. There really isn't anything in your actual price range that's an appreciable upgrade from them.
