I'm agnostic- "A person who believes that nothing is known or can be known of the existence or nature of God or of anything beyond material phenomena" Basically I believe in the possibility but I don't care either way. I used to be atheist but I would tell every one I was a satanist because it was funny and I would walk around saying hail satan and shi+ like that

I don't believe in Religion, or God for that matter, and I think the same way you do to why religion is here and plays such a big part in our world.
I see it as impossible, and far fetched, to me it doesn't make any sense, being good here, having faith, having commitment, so that when you die you can live in a Kingdom, just the whole idea is what makes me not believe.
However, I do believe in the teachings, to do good, to help others, to put someone else before yourself, those are the good things that come from religion and the Bible. I do feel strongly about that though, just not the whole idea of a higher being, or a "god".

what we think is god is probably a gas cloud floating around the universe somewhere. incredible though, think about how many life forms are in existence and how we are an extremely rare phenomenon to say the least. Universe is incomprehensible, so how can we comprehend god?

Religion teaches close mindedness in a sense that some invisible man knows right from wrong and watches over everyone, I don't really like to judge people based upon religion but it get's very annoying when they sit there and try an debate with me and say the most repetitive arguments that theist usually use, one of the one's that pisses me off ridiculously is "how do you think we got here." People don't seem to realize when they use that argument they're just making themselves look completely stupid and proving the point that you made saying how religion was created to explain things that are out of reach for us to comprehend.

That is the view I find most likely, aside from there being no deity.

No I don't believe in religion. At the beginning of our race, we could not explain why we were here, what things were. We had to make some theories. People decided to create religion & that a higher power had to have made this all. That was their science. Why do you think every religion is different? Because they were theories rom people from different places who could not communicate.
Today we have actual science. Evolution is there & honestly I think religion is a bit outdated. People are just too scared of an unknown death to comprehend this.
There's my view on religion.

Hall wrote Religion is a way of thinking. Its fine and dandy if you believe it, just don't TELL people that its true. To me, religion is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. Its just something to fight over and debate. If God is so great and all powerful, how about he fixes the issues in this world? If he can apparently develop a whole world, why can't he fix the issues with it. Don't tell me "he is busy" or anything like that, it is said that he created the world basically instantly, if he can do that he can make a few quick fixes also. You believe in Christianity I'm guessing, and Jews believe in Judaism, and Muslims believe in Islam, and Buddhists believe in Buddhism, and Hindus believe in Hinduism, who is to say just one of those is right? And those aren't the only ones. How can so many religions exist? Because its controversial, it is uncertain, NO ONE KNOWS. Have you met God? Have you met Jesus? If you have you might've dreamt it, just as a child would dream of meeting their favorite celebrity. The point is, no religion has substantial proof, so don't say its true, because technically, non of it is. You can say you Believe in it, just don't push it onto others, they'll believe if they want to believe. I personally am atheist, if you couldn't tell by now, and I doubt many of you who saw this long paragraph even read it. I hear stuff all the time about religion this and religion that. You really notice how much religion is put into our lives once you rid yourself of it, its just more and more propaganda. Things happen sometimes that people can't explain, something like the creation of the universe and everything we know is one of those things. I believe God was a way to explain something that could not be explained at the time, and has been taken too far. (My opinion)
Leave a Reply on what you think, and again, don't post stupid things like "You're WRONG!" or "God is good" post a reasonable argument, anything else makes you look stupid. Please respect others and their views also. Thank you.
A Good Post:

I love how you say don't tell people that god is real but yet you saying there is no such thing as god and have no proof that he doesn't exist. And this is why i am an agnostic plan and simple.
