It's simply a waste. It's not that big of a game either.

After once again stating that the decision to use a subscription-based business model did not have anything to do with perceived flaws in the free-to-play or similar models, he said that there were two primary reasons behind the decision: To ensure the monetization of the game would fit the Elder Scrolls setting, and to fund further development of the game post-release. To further elaborate on the former point, he explained that the team did not want to deny players any content in the game; that they did not want to force players to pay for further access to the game while playing it. Firor went on to say that a subscription-based model would allow for the development of new content for the game as long as people were still playing it. He declared that the subscription model would provide a more definite revenue stream for development of this additional game content, such as the Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood, that will not be available at release.

Most company's say that about subscription games. They will still make their money but I for one am not the type of person to play a game for a long time. I might just pay for 1 month.

I highly doubt they will go through with this. Just watch, they'll change their minds to it being like a 5er a month in anther month or two.

This reason is beyond me. They may have lost a lot of customers, but they will still make more money. This just shows that they like Money more than they like their customers imo.

No, they have to have funds to bring in more content for the game, and since they are planning to add new content every 4-6 weeks they need a lot of income for it or their customers would miss out on a lot of stuff like the dark brotherhood, thieves guild etc which are not added in the base game. Putting a subscription fee allows them to have the needed funding to provide their loyal customers with top notch content in the game, otherwise they'd just have a really basic crap game that would be no fun.
